Chewing basil leaves or keeping a clove in the mouth also helps in treating the problem of heartburn effectively.
Sugar intake shall be kept to minimum and increased intake of fruits like guava, banana, figs, cucumber, melon and apples help a lot in curing the problem of heartburn effectively and permanently. Use of herbal or green tea particularly containing ginger, licorice and catnip is very beneficial; it can be used as an alternate to traditional tea.
